Just delivered an order of bibs!
I love when people ask me to make things for them! I had a sweet lady ask me to make up some bibs for her and she brought me the fabric.
They turned out pretty good. I love the flowers.
These are some of my favorites. I hope I can get some pictures of her sweet boy wearing one of these!

Couple of finished projects and a WIP
I have been a bit busy lately. School is about to start and I have a "doula baby" I am expecting to make an appearance any day now. So, not too much sewing going on. I did however get a couple of things finished and a new quilt started.
This is the layout of my next quilt. There is white sashing between each of the rows. I hope it turns out as pretty as I think it will.
And I decided to have something pretty for the lining fabric so the baby would have something to look at.
I just hope it's not too dark in there for her to see the butterfly's!
I love this one! I could not pass up this fabric. I am going to put this one on my Etsy shop. So if you know of anyone who loves cowboy's, let me know. This one is ready to go out the door!
And this last picture is make you say "Awww".
Ain't she cute!?!

I have been holding on to this fabric for a while, not sure what to do with it. Then I saw this quilt, and I knew I had to make it. You should explore http://www.ohfransson.com/ sometime. This is one very talented woman!
And I finished two car seat canopy's! One for a dear friend of mine....

My Etsy Shop!
Well I officially have an Etsy shop! I am so excited. People have asked me several times if I had an Etsy shop to sell my things, and I finally gave in. If you get a chance, hop on over to my shop and take a peek. The shop name is MySewManyBabies. I will be adding more things as I take pictures of them. Right now my good friend Beth from Smith Studios is helping me with some photos. I am not the best picture taking gal! Thank goodness I am blessed with talented friends. Take a look at her work. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Car seat canopy
Wow! It's been almost two weeks since I posted. You probably thought I had run away! Nope. Just had VBS last week. It was amazing!!! I love teaching and having fun with all the kids, but I am so worn out by the end of it. Whew!!!
So I thought I would catch you up on a few things I have done. Here is a car seat canopy I made for a dear friend of mine.
I just love the birdies! I actually made a bib out of this same fabric for this same family. Maybe I should buy some more of it.
There are a few tutorials out there for car seat canopy's. There is this one, this one is pretty cute, here is one made from fleece, and also this one is made from some great fabric!!! I noticed most of the tutorials are pretty close to the same. Each one is just a little bit different. So go through and pick out what you like best and make your own.
This picture shows the lining fabric. I am pleased with how it came out, but mostly my friend, Janna, is very pleased with it. So that makes me the happiest! I keep telling her that she is my free advertising. Everytime I get the itch to try something new, I make it and give it to her. She shows it off for me and gives me tips on what to change. Awesome friend! Love her! She is an incredible mom with the most precious children. Wish they were all made like her.
Here is some Michael Miller fabric I found today. I am going to use it to make another car seat canopy.
Isn't it sweet!!!
The dark red with the horses will be the lining fabric and the handles will be made from the bandana fabric. Can't wait to see it done! Know anyone with a baby boy who would want to buy it? I really need to get an Etsy store!

My burp clothes must be tasty!
I knew my burp clothes were good for keeping your clothes clean when holding leaky babies. I knew they were fun and cute to look at. I also knew they were handy for putting under a baby while they were sleeping to catch any spit up. But did you know they were tasty?!?
Sweet Pea's moma had to keep several laying around because they kept being eaten!
The poor kid couldn't stuff them all in her mouth fast enough! So this is now my baby endorsement. Even if the mom's don't care for the burp clothes, they babies love them!!!
I just couldn't help this picture. Isn't she adorable!!! Love the hair flip going on. Silly moma tried to put a bow in her hair. Guess she showed her, huh?!? So there you go. Burp clothes have been baby tested and have the Sweet Pea seal of approval. Or was that a seal of slobber?
This is what the burp cloth looked like before Pea attacked it.

Need your opinion
Okay, I need some input. I found this amazing, beautiful quilt I want to make:

It's from A Little Gray. This is one talented lady!
So I have the fabric for the dots and I can't decide what color to do the background in. I don't think white will work because there is some white in the fabrics. So your choices are:
light green (sorry, haven't ironed it yet)
or yellow
Or maybe a whole different color? This is just what I have on hand ready to sew with. So let me know what you think. I can't wait to get started on this!

Baby washclothes
I made some awesome baby washclothes! These are so soft!!!
These are very easy to make. Flannel is on one side and chenille on the back. Just cut them in a 6 1/2 inch square and sew together with right sides together. Leave a small opening to turn right side out. Then I topstitched all the way around the border to close the opening and give it a nice finish.
I think I may make some of these for me! An adult can have a nice cozy washclothes, right? Maybe I will package 5 of them together and sell for $10. Sound reasonable? These are very soft! I've said that already, haven't I. Oh well. I do tend to repeat myself! :-)

Making more burp cloths
I have made several of these burp cloths for friends of mine, and they love them!
I think the shape is one thing they love. I know I could not live without burp cloths when mine were little. I made this several different ways before I found the right combination. I tried using flannel on the front and back, I also used cloth diaper material on the back. Then I tried terry cloth on the back and flannel on the front. We had a winner!
The flannel that is out now is so much cuter than what I had when my first one was little. It gets cuter every year.
The template I used is http://www.newconceptions.com/. Just go under their free patterns to find the template. Super easy!

WIP for Miss SassyPants
I am working on a tunic for Miss SassyPants. The top band is knitted.
As you can tell it is not quite finished. Only a few more inches! Yay!
Once the top of the bodice is done I am going to make the bottom out of this fabric. Too cute huh? It's going to have an empire waist. I'm not sure yet how much it is going to flair. I may gather it so it has a lot of swirl. But then I may keep it more tapered. What do you think?
Once I finish Miss SassyPants in the green, I am going to make one for Sweetie Pie out of the blue. So they will be a little different, but close. I am a sucker for sisters wearing matching clothes. I know they will hate me for it one day. But maybe the fact that I made it for them will make it not so bad.
And this is just for laughs.
One of my daughters got my phone and took this nice picture for me. Made me laugh! Thought you might could use a laugh too.

Barbara's bag
My sweet friend Barb asked me to make a bag for her to use for school. She is going to school to be a nurse. Hopefully a labor and delivery nurse. Maybe we will get to work together in the future!
I made it nice and roomy for lots of school books. It is really bright and cheerful!
I added a pocket on the inside for a cell phone and some pens. I like the way it all came together.

Love this bib!
Here is a new bib I made up from this tutorial - http://theadventuresofroryandjess.blogspot.com/2011/05/bapron-tutorial.html. Jess is so talented! Hop over to her blog and check it out.
Drum roll here.......
Isn't she gorgeous!!! This is Miss PicklePants. She is my model for this great bib. Her mom is pretty happy with it. She asked for a couple more, so....
I love the black binding. It makes it a little different and really cute!
And who doesn't like owls!?! My daughter loves peace signs, so I almost lost this fabric. With this bib I used flannel on the front and cotton fabric on the back. The other ones that I made have the flannel on the back and cotton fabric on the front. Thought I would try something different. There are soooo many cute flannel fabrics out there.
This is the first one I made for Pickle.
And this one I made for a sweet baby boy whose daddy is a firefighter. His moma is pretty awesome too. Maybe she will send me a picture of him wearing it so I can post it. Hint hint....
I see myself making more of these. The tutorial is very well written and easy to follow. This one is a winner!

Teacher bags
Well I finally finished the bags for the girls teachers.
This is the first one I finished. I really like the colors. They are so bright!
Here is the back view. It's not overly big, just big enough to carry folders, papers, or a notebook.
This is the one I made for daughter #2's teacher. She picked out the fabrics for this one. I have always like pink and brown together. I finally learned how to make a lining for a bag, and how to make box corners. They aren't nearly as difficult as I thought they would be. I'm still not the best at it, but I am getting better with practice.
Hope they like them! Let me know what you think.

Pillowcase dress finished!
Finished the pillowcase dress Tuesday. It really didn't take too long. Easily done in an afternoon. Here is "Little Miss Sassypants" modeling it for me.
She was really happy with her new dress.
Isn't she something?!? I always tell people that it's a good thing she is cute.
Just gotta love her! Thank you to http://www.themotherhuddle.com/ for a wonderful pattern! It is truly lovely and very simple to make. Your directions were fantastic! The only thing I did different is I added muslin as a lining. With the white fabric, I was a little afraid of it being too thin. I am very happy with how it turned out.

Pillowcase Dress
I am going to feature some of my favorite blogs over the next couple of weeks. The first one is http://www.themotherhuddle.com/. She has some really neat tutorials. I choose her first because I am currently working on her tutorial for a pillowcase dress. See tutorial at http://www.themotherhuddle.com/tutorial-fat-quarter-pillow-case-dress/.
Here are the fabric pieces I am using.
They look like vintage sheets! I love it. It is actually just a fabric fat-quarter bundle from Joann's. The colors are so soft and blend so well.
This picture shows the patterns on the fabric a little better. I will put a picture on here of the finished dress as soon as I can. I really hope to get some more sewing done tomorrow!
