My lovely children evidently love to take pictures of themselves. I didn't know these existed. So here to make you smile are my lovely girls.<br />

Scary huh? Word of advice....never set your phone down!PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7738521493183695677.post-65745515584516949982012-04-05T10:45:00.000-04:002012-04-05T10:45:50.583-04:00Wow! It's been a long time!Hi everyone! It has been a very long time since I posted last! So much is going on. The best part is that I am now teaching prenatal yoga! I have taken yoga for a few years now from my wonderful friend Lauren, and she talked me into teaching prenatal yoga. It has been wonderful. I get to meet so many wonderful pregnant women. We always have fun in class. I am still teaching childbirth education classes at Lisa Ross Birth and Women's Center. So life is busy!<br />
<br />
I have been doing a lot of sewing too. Here are some pictures of what I've done recently.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu6apg6rZqN5XgZsMyHRam6RwHUCW5SLZyzdxEpifvX9uMU4R-R_WcJvRf8Xk5PzTVHUdQ5ifOqpW2OaqqvR8JDc-KqKDI3_R5tVaxW17hbyPp8EBuBxNmjEc_ogOe25KFUu2o23UAxEng/s1600/iPhone+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu6apg6rZqN5XgZsMyHRam6RwHUCW5SLZyzdxEpifvX9uMU4R-R_WcJvRf8Xk5PzTVHUdQ5ifOqpW2OaqqvR8JDc-KqKDI3_R5tVaxW17hbyPp8EBuBxNmjEc_ogOe25KFUu2o23UAxEng/s320/iPhone+005.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
Love this blanket! Very simple to make, Minky on the back and flannel on the front. Just cut to the size you want, sew together with wrong sides together. Leave a small opening to turn right side out. Then topstitch around the edge, closing the opening when you get there. See...easy peasy!<br />
<br />

A dear friend of mine had a baby in Feb, so of course I had to make this car seat cover for her.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlgHWaB5txoTZl_XT16I6XPFuPxuBFL7KYxE9gTOJ2HpS9TH0DmE3oTgmeA7BNHnulUJwpB1flFqft16HvsHmZYn0chqxra0m845bjISjMcTgV-ZthmOds7YRIL2Nsf6RuiT8LiS1PtGxf/s1600/iPhone+003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlgHWaB5txoTZl_XT16I6XPFuPxuBFL7KYxE9gTOJ2HpS9TH0DmE3oTgmeA7BNHnulUJwpB1flFqft16HvsHmZYn0chqxra0m845bjISjMcTgV-ZthmOds7YRIL2Nsf6RuiT8LiS1PtGxf/s320/iPhone+003.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
There are tons of car seat canopy tutorials out there for these. <a href="http://creativelychristy.blogspot.com/2010/03/tutorial-carseat-canopy.html">Here is one</a> that is fairly simple but adorable.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGHkdmxcIbnY7L759P5n3HK2qrw1EQFVWp9hDvqN4TSavsdcfo8YU_-ETSUcBBWq2j3oyw-NDK0zr79Gs8_4hWcypf9KjZqm_obeJJAHj5NsTZhuuJyL7myzTj_vwRbAJpGyxxkzsZPC4f/s1600/iPhone+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGHkdmxcIbnY7L759P5n3HK2qrw1EQFVWp9hDvqN4TSavsdcfo8YU_-ETSUcBBWq2j3oyw-NDK0zr79Gs8_4hWcypf9KjZqm_obeJJAHj5NsTZhuuJyL7myzTj_vwRbAJpGyxxkzsZPC4f/s320/iPhone+005.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I also made her a quilt for the new baby.<br />
<br />

Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest. Photography is not my talent. However, my 11 yr old daughter seems to have "the touch" when it comes to pictures. I may post some of her pictures later.<br />

And the backing is chenille! So soft and cuddly. I was afraid quilting would mess up the back, so I just tacked it together by hand here and there. I would use contrasting thread and outline a design in one of the circles. So it will stay together, but I didn't distroy the beautiful chenille.<br />
<br />
I'm going to leave off here. There are a ton more things to include, but I have three laundry baskets of clothes just waitin for me to put them away. I will put up some more things in the next few days!PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7738521493183695677.post-80226860077891873432011-09-21T10:57:00.000-04:002011-09-21T10:57:49.421-04:00The Pinwheel QuiltI finished this quilt top months ago! It has taken me this long to find the right backing for it and get it quilted. Please tell me I am not the only one the quilt tops just waiting to be quilted!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIkm0LWhUZy2MZd2gKvdUDnLNW2LB5RtrydqDBwe-H1MInaabWM3sTocx3PF1N1u4APCSuFsDghOxuS7f4kjApoKZaj6wCOpjaSqskzojBO_d6dh9tb6z7_wlk5x1Ii4yikGFYuW_hADUq/s1600/iPhone+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hca="true" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIkm0LWhUZy2MZd2gKvdUDnLNW2LB5RtrydqDBwe-H1MInaabWM3sTocx3PF1N1u4APCSuFsDghOxuS7f4kjApoKZaj6wCOpjaSqskzojBO_d6dh9tb6z7_wlk5x1Ii4yikGFYuW_hADUq/s320/iPhone+002.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I searched and searched for the right fabric for the backing and couldn't find anything that felt right. You know what I mean? You see that bolt of fabric and you know it was meant to be on your quilt! So one day I was looking for orange and white checkered fabric (go Vols!) to make a pillowcase dress for a friend's baby. None of the usual stores carried it. So I started looking for other fabric shops in town that I may not know about. I found one! I thought it was just sewing machines, but they also have an amazing selection of fabric, including orange and white checkered fabric!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgga-kDI9PvE-XpvJyomrZlH9ZU3Ca4_9amVrRKCMKEuKxm2wddRxxO9vBclbXkiBFCVA4oEpxTJ08jLUm5k5qw2Hdh3l8gVc3haciqnkAJ-VX1piEwM0XmY7CqcDZ9iowj7RJX0oe2kCAZ/s1600/iPhone+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hca="true" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgga-kDI9PvE-XpvJyomrZlH9ZU3Ca4_9amVrRKCMKEuKxm2wddRxxO9vBclbXkiBFCVA4oEpxTJ08jLUm5k5qw2Hdh3l8gVc3haciqnkAJ-VX1piEwM0XmY7CqcDZ9iowj7RJX0oe2kCAZ/s320/iPhone+001.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
While I was walking around <strike>drooling </strike>looking at fabric I found bolts of Sugar Pop by Moda! I used a charm pack of Sugar Pop to make this quilt, plus some extra fabrics. This new store I love is <a href="http://www.allaboutsewing.net/">All About Sewing</a>. They were so nice and helpful. Plus lots of Moda fabric! Bolts, charm packs, jelly rolls.....sigh! <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_6sh3Nb3qFYVWnp2MzoLo8ozcOmb4ZIy-TLjfVRzKE_5E6LyOP5SI6Nj9vo2pso4YDQojKLf0SjFFnCUj808GcozHCLySJXFsb6VwjkCS9vOS4ZGV-Un_xJ2eM7x45_VvzPNIzYD2-dxG/s1600/iPhone+004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hca="true" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_6sh3Nb3qFYVWnp2MzoLo8ozcOmb4ZIy-TLjfVRzKE_5E6LyOP5SI6Nj9vo2pso4YDQojKLf0SjFFnCUj808GcozHCLySJXFsb6VwjkCS9vOS4ZGV-Un_xJ2eM7x45_VvzPNIzYD2-dxG/s320/iPhone+004.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
See! Isn't it pretty!!! I love the backing fabric so much, I think you could use it as a reversable quilt. What do you think?<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEYLk-XbASMKusBg7vq5GijV62rKmZD5-yAX99pmu6xdNpEjx0fGnOaYdnhQMSp0RP6y5mKvvHrO92NySU6pYoO_Oc9TscF3yklC6zflET461PpkV8CQTec-DSUimuqTaZqCSPdQnqXJjy/s1600/iPhone+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hca="true" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEYLk-XbASMKusBg7vq5GijV62rKmZD5-yAX99pmu6xdNpEjx0fGnOaYdnhQMSp0RP6y5mKvvHrO92NySU6pYoO_Oc9TscF3yklC6zflET461PpkV8CQTec-DSUimuqTaZqCSPdQnqXJjy/s320/iPhone+005.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I quilted it in a wonky wave pattern. I call it wonky because not every wavy line is the same. See, you probably thought I meant to make it wonky! <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-pIWc2VUhvtksyDMYIBIzxAKzbnpZcNiWYbyRhnW8GtZakBTohejQJ4JKdK3Vv8iO2vja82Lvn2TA2aRkoDtCxygknhpNB9tvfVrWFPlCHXV0CrM-vEb9kUOfTgq7Ay3Yu0nfK5ePX_PK/s1600/iPhone+003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hca="true" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-pIWc2VUhvtksyDMYIBIzxAKzbnpZcNiWYbyRhnW8GtZakBTohejQJ4JKdK3Vv8iO2vja82Lvn2TA2aRkoDtCxygknhpNB9tvfVrWFPlCHXV0CrM-vEb9kUOfTgq7Ay3Yu0nfK5ePX_PK/s320/iPhone+003.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
This is the first time I quilted something that wasn't in straight lines. Very scary! But it didn't turn out too bad. Just a little wonky! I just listed this in my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/MySewManyBabies?ref=pr_shop_more">Etsy shop.</a> Let me know what you think.PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7738521493183695677.post-13651739819047622752011-09-06T15:31:00.000-04:002011-09-06T15:31:14.867-04:00The Wave QuiltI love the quilts from <a href="http://www.ohfransson.com/">http://www.ohfransson.com/</a>. She has some great patterns! I fell in love with <a href="http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2010/03/new-wave-quilt.html">this one</a> and had to make it. So here it is!<br />
<br />

This quilt is a little bigger than I intended. It's 38" x 53", so it may be a little big for a crib quilt, but would work great on a toddler bed.<br />
<br />

<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPDpZQohcMIwtb5lDrx6d78K8uEbtC2TvDg493pw7iUmQxCYOwaZB0K3lvyyiUSb0C88F6zC5SHCVPDibbo1t0Qu2L4t0AXiWgmVfZqWJwTXMbC5EiBXz5MGqD7DIqAivABBHT-f_ElWOs/s1600/iPhone+011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPDpZQohcMIwtb5lDrx6d78K8uEbtC2TvDg493pw7iUmQxCYOwaZB0K3lvyyiUSb0C88F6zC5SHCVPDibbo1t0Qu2L4t0AXiWgmVfZqWJwTXMbC5EiBXz5MGqD7DIqAivABBHT-f_ElWOs/s320/iPhone+011.JPG" width="240" xaa="true" /></a></div><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">Now I have to decide what to use as the backing. I am thinking of using something in green. What do you think? <br />

I will head out next week and buy fabric for the backing and binding so this will all be finished. Then I will get it listed on my Etsy shop. <br />

I had a sweet lady ask me to make up some bibs for her and she brought me the fabric.<br />

PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7738521493183695677.post-31531671390852808502011-08-07T21:57:00.000-04:002011-08-07T21:57:40.231-04:00Couple of finished projects and a WIPI have been a bit busy lately. School is about to start and I have a "doula baby" I am expecting to make an appearance any day now. So, not too much sewing going on. I did however get a couple of things finished and a new quilt started.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCmnzCE3jZcCcVqN5gkzQzjyVAkn78HSMUGLzY3DsLxlW_yHIizM_97pbIv6ju6afFj20i8waiJYzEg7D2_0lJ9A5_djryKYUdVDAQ7zpttIxgWtoAc94FKapRAnDcC6tczy5hRqdDQ1bv/s1600/iPhone+051.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCmnzCE3jZcCcVqN5gkzQzjyVAkn78HSMUGLzY3DsLxlW_yHIizM_97pbIv6ju6afFj20i8waiJYzEg7D2_0lJ9A5_djryKYUdVDAQ7zpttIxgWtoAc94FKapRAnDcC6tczy5hRqdDQ1bv/s400/iPhone+051.JPG" t$="true" width="300" /></a></div><br />
This is the layout of my next quilt. There is white sashing between each of the rows. I hope it turns out as pretty as I think it will.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvffdGKFU54AXIa91JnDBe9oNrcYOpyXz6rIszara9IwxHoNOVqgWcGY3qGuk62OsLqtJjNDVUPUW9MPbLP5hYTj5Ksj58NuAKkNhU7LwBHLN_CICX48ayUsflppL6mDw_43AWVrk1KO3q/s1600/iPhone+053.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvffdGKFU54AXIa91JnDBe9oNrcYOpyXz6rIszara9IwxHoNOVqgWcGY3qGuk62OsLqtJjNDVUPUW9MPbLP5hYTj5Ksj58NuAKkNhU7LwBHLN_CICX48ayUsflppL6mDw_43AWVrk1KO3q/s400/iPhone+053.JPG" t$="true" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">I have been holding on to this fabric for a while, not sure what to do with it. Then I saw <a href="http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2010/03/new-wave-quilt.html">this quilt</a>, and I knew I had to make it. You should explore <a href="http://www.ohfransson.com/">http://www.ohfransson.com/</a> sometime. This is one very talented woman!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">And I finished two car seat canopy's! One for a dear friend of mine....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpGyvO-TkfAudrLeFpLN5UpoLl_I7OBEcxnw5rVYJ1Q8oDr3-y2oWX25RiNgS0BxGdhfurnPezdcZYCLuzwixDEWYMadVvgxDeAFQGVamFqDsg3YHcHKaLKe6w_x3opnpA2cyeBb38_jaI/s1600/iPhone+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpGyvO-TkfAudrLeFpLN5UpoLl_I7OBEcxnw5rVYJ1Q8oDr3-y2oWX25RiNgS0BxGdhfurnPezdcZYCLuzwixDEWYMadVvgxDeAFQGVamFqDsg3YHcHKaLKe6w_x3opnpA2cyeBb38_jaI/s320/iPhone+001.JPG" t$="true" width="240" /></a></div><br />
And I decided to have something pretty for the lining fabric so the baby would have something to look at.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfvxgsN3KdNnX5pz9PaRW51F9qPMBbJ_6yBG8SubOQE7QB3HlQAVUK3OSK6nsqsBxFfR9E0jYKI1rbI6SLn0sRmgLl7CYyuIYCkMDaUZo0mihpbp1nvmZbp2o2-Ib7yYv7c70NY_Um_RJp/s1600/iPhone+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfvxgsN3KdNnX5pz9PaRW51F9qPMBbJ_6yBG8SubOQE7QB3HlQAVUK3OSK6nsqsBxFfR9E0jYKI1rbI6SLn0sRmgLl7CYyuIYCkMDaUZo0mihpbp1nvmZbp2o2-Ib7yYv7c70NY_Um_RJp/s320/iPhone+002.JPG" t$="true" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I just hope it's not too dark in there for her to see the butterfly's!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaZXBdIKq6aoLWDFzedRPquTBPVMIcVsNj_s4p1ANZTF7ND5D400u3tbZ3MCOA9KABPqf6T5K3SIWrIweo8YBHV7rRR83KPszJasdTHJKrzOaXmXlS5TKj2726tvsD5vspD5XJj7C53llq/s1600/iPhone+003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaZXBdIKq6aoLWDFzedRPquTBPVMIcVsNj_s4p1ANZTF7ND5D400u3tbZ3MCOA9KABPqf6T5K3SIWrIweo8YBHV7rRR83KPszJasdTHJKrzOaXmXlS5TKj2726tvsD5vspD5XJj7C53llq/s320/iPhone+003.JPG" t$="true" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I love this one! I could not pass up this fabric. I am going to put this one on my Etsy shop. So if you know of anyone who loves cowboy's, let me know. This one is ready to go out the door!<br />
<br />
<br />

Especially since there isn't any pictures of ice cream on the fabric! When I finished the quilt top, I took it next door to show my neighbor. She told her husband to come look at it, and he named it the ice cream quilt. Said the colors made him think of Neapolitan Ice Cream. What do you think?<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeuQjl6YIAImvUIMKTbgbtEa2QmgzZY-k6eo9tV74nX0iuq1GK3mAAOisVgmyGG8TKqwYUAmi7mU7CnMco4T7jnzPZguMPl3Rrdp0EokzW6Jnf6B40fahkauS8qNMDC9TIAHqdMSiGVgJ_/s1600/iPhone+011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeuQjl6YIAImvUIMKTbgbtEa2QmgzZY-k6eo9tV74nX0iuq1GK3mAAOisVgmyGG8TKqwYUAmi7mU7CnMco4T7jnzPZguMPl3Rrdp0EokzW6Jnf6B40fahkauS8qNMDC9TIAHqdMSiGVgJ_/s400/iPhone+011.JPG" t$="true" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">This is my first quilt I did on my own without a pattern. The colors, I think, go well together. It seemed to come together nicely. So I guess it does make a person think of Neapolitan Ice Cream. <br />

Maybe I can write up some simple instructions on how I did this. I just drew it up on notebook paper and went to work. What do you think? Oh, and I would have rotated the picture if I could have figured out how to!!!<br />

I am so excited. People have asked me several times if I had an Etsy shop to sell my things, and I finally gave in. If you get a chance, hop on over to <a href="http://www.etsy.com/people/Mysewmanybabies">my shop</a> and take a peek. The shop name is MySewManyBabies. I will be adding more things as I take pictures of them. Right now my good friend Beth from <a href="http://www.bksmithstudios.com/">Smith Studios</a> is helping me with some photos. I am not the best picture taking gal! Thank goodness I am blessed with talented friends. Take a look at her work. I promise you won't be disappointed!PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7738521493183695677.post-29721434511669422212011-07-26T18:59:00.000-04:002011-07-26T18:59:52.150-04:00Zig Zag quilt finished!!!I have had this quilt finished for a few weeks, but I couldn't post it until it was given to my friend at her baby shower. You never know who might be reading your blog!!! And here it is....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN8QZnw8ImW3YS21jLoiUhzNOKhqm24VpUI6_eUXo0bTPYB21tKjC47CYxZZBEaS-QXvdgRFgcdFL9qRqqL2udDYYtZ8akNOKtUA12oiDl7z908eW2BKr2SY8n48o0_m6GA_VNyoPTvZWV/s1600/iPhone+012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN8QZnw8ImW3YS21jLoiUhzNOKhqm24VpUI6_eUXo0bTPYB21tKjC47CYxZZBEaS-QXvdgRFgcdFL9qRqqL2udDYYtZ8akNOKtUA12oiDl7z908eW2BKr2SY8n48o0_m6GA_VNyoPTvZWV/s320/iPhone+012.JPG" t$="true" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I had a lot of fun making this quilt. It was pretty simple. It's using half square triangles and that's it. The tutorial I used is from <a href="http://lellaboutique.blogspot.com/2011/01/olives-ice-cream-pinwheel-tutorial.html">Lella Boutique</a>. You should go check out her blog. She is very talented. You will love it!<br />

This is it before it was quilted. So simple but I love it. I think I will make this one again. Sorry for the lack of pictures. I thought I took more than the one of it finished. Opps! I will try to get some more on here of it.PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7738521493183695677.post-34324613678724264932011-07-25T21:09:00.000-04:002011-07-25T21:09:15.377-04:00Car seat canopyWow! It's been almost two weeks since I posted. You probably thought I had run away! Nope. Just had VBS last week. It was amazing!!! I love teaching and having fun with all the kids, but I am so worn out by the end of it. Whew!!! <br />
<br />
So I thought I would catch you up on a few things I have done. Here is a car seat canopy I made for a dear friend of mine.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhziMZJYSAOhqo_ecHMaWKG3B23remJsVWQflaiB7Yp9o__i53reFRreuqQmHOY8Durad8KM_ZhpPXPZTz9gqQ4BGidb2t8uG9KY3HajfjUH_ynoknuB5Zy4Y0YpQlrQqaJmUCntXWO-sVj/s1600/iPhone+003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhziMZJYSAOhqo_ecHMaWKG3B23remJsVWQflaiB7Yp9o__i53reFRreuqQmHOY8Durad8KM_ZhpPXPZTz9gqQ4BGidb2t8uG9KY3HajfjUH_ynoknuB5Zy4Y0YpQlrQqaJmUCntXWO-sVj/s320/iPhone+003.JPG" t$="true" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I just love the birdies! I actually made a bib out of this same fabric for this same family. Maybe I should buy some more of it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMVww3RHCkY32c-EkaOAev8bIRB7YdhepBBkozUjUyDpKtjlMLUzOFmvj_f7v5ZbWlZ_M4pgrcKt3_rLIzJtFc9IqJvX2DYko_cVd2wtRd_QLf63k6o2t1CyVPh2kRc6dLOl-fmLb9T1m4/s1600/iPhone+004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMVww3RHCkY32c-EkaOAev8bIRB7YdhepBBkozUjUyDpKtjlMLUzOFmvj_f7v5ZbWlZ_M4pgrcKt3_rLIzJtFc9IqJvX2DYko_cVd2wtRd_QLf63k6o2t1CyVPh2kRc6dLOl-fmLb9T1m4/s320/iPhone+004.JPG" t$="true" width="240" /></a></div><br />
There are a few tutorials out there for car seat canopy's. There is <a href="http://just-because-i-am-me.blogspot.com/2010/02/car-seat-canopy-tutorial.html">this one,</a> <a href="http://tencowchick.com/2011/03/04/car-seat-canopy/">this</a> one is pretty cute, <a href="http://www.fleecefun.com/baby-car-seat-canopy--tent--cover-how-to.html">here</a> is one made from fleece, and also <a href="http://www.vanillajoy.com/diy-car-seat-cover.html">this one</a> is made from some great fabric!!! I noticed most of the tutorials are pretty close to the same. Each one is just a little bit different. So go through and pick out what you like best and make your own.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV-e8GODl58_SRXlLHfg85nCxw-INYGQVrFr5NiE35vhKA_XU-lNJWdI7iKPfHghLan6e9qJoy3OQ8b66u4mGA6yhyIEWTRTNIL4kS8_Lz7GXJ0ySoavwc7lBI0oFn356nnCIel3pjl2BB/s1600/iPhone+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV-e8GODl58_SRXlLHfg85nCxw-INYGQVrFr5NiE35vhKA_XU-lNJWdI7iKPfHghLan6e9qJoy3OQ8b66u4mGA6yhyIEWTRTNIL4kS8_Lz7GXJ0ySoavwc7lBI0oFn356nnCIel3pjl2BB/s320/iPhone+005.JPG" t$="true" width="240" /></a></div><br />
This picture shows the lining fabric. I am pleased with how it came out, but mostly my friend, Janna, is very pleased with it. So that makes me the happiest! I keep telling her that she is my free advertising. Everytime I get the itch to try something new, I make it and give it to her. She shows it off for me and gives me tips on what to change. Awesome friend! Love her! She is an incredible mom with the most precious children. Wish they were all made like her.<br />
<br />
Here is some Michael Miller fabric I found today. I am going to use it to make another car seat canopy.<br />
<br />

Isn't it sweet!!!<br />
<br />
<br />

The dark red with the horses will be the lining fabric and the handles will be made from the bandana fabric. Can't wait to see it done! Know anyone with a baby boy who would want to buy it? I really need to get an Etsy store!PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7738521493183695677.post-59597494847973250372011-07-14T21:20:00.000-04:002011-07-14T21:20:41.339-04:00Confident Birthing WorkshopExciting news! <a href="http://www.connectionyoga.com/">Connection Yoga</a> and <a href="http://www.pushdoula.com/">Push Doula Services</a> are teaming up for the Confident Birthing Workshop at <a href="http://www.glowingbody.net/">the Glowing Body</a> yoga studio. It is the last weekend in July, Saturday July 30th and Sunday July 31st. This workshop is based on the book Active Birth by Janet Balaskas. She teaches how you can use yoga to prepare your body for labor and how movement can help your labor progress. This is one of the best childbirth education books I have ever read. I highly recommend it!<br />
<br />
Yours truly is the Push Doula part of the workshop. I get to teach the childbirth education part of the class and Lauren H is teaching the prenatal yoga part. <br />
<br />
This is Lauren H.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMXUAc76KTO4VFcM_i4pG0xxWsECutvGLLUFIcSMuwnXip17I_7GGbQ3RNOxWgItNALuXdE7Ch_3xLXtlxsoKy2eDCLTy4IbViy4fKm2sJGFJQowVoj46XKC1iEMxmXF4IWUEXbA8QELnM/s1600/lauren1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMXUAc76KTO4VFcM_i4pG0xxWsECutvGLLUFIcSMuwnXip17I_7GGbQ3RNOxWgItNALuXdE7Ch_3xLXtlxsoKy2eDCLTy4IbViy4fKm2sJGFJQowVoj46XKC1iEMxmXF4IWUEXbA8QELnM/s320/lauren1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
She is teaching the prenatal yoga part of the workshop. Pretty awesome teacher! Don't worry, Lauren teaches more than prenatal yoga. So if you need someone to whip you into shape, she is the one to call!<br />
<br />

She looks all sweet in the above photo, but don't let her fool you. Lauren will work your hiney off! You can go to her website <a href="http://www.connectionyoga.com/">www.connectionyoga.com</a> and check out what she is about. I can tell you first hand her classes are a lot of fun. Hard work! But fun!<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvN-nXAhyphenhyphenI3A2PFWFBtVxxWsEP6jJcXKPqZUpGfDgip0VGs1KX2ZSdVpTtjC9dhyphenhyphenLg7tQA0Zb_nHXyHokCpjxxlAH0nKhc7a2OM1QY7pdZf5OZwD6cE0FnxVIOaLwKglUc_I6NJGd58j6g/s1600/iPhone+006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvN-nXAhyphenhyphenI3A2PFWFBtVxxWsEP6jJcXKPqZUpGfDgip0VGs1KX2ZSdVpTtjC9dhyphenhyphenLg7tQA0Zb_nHXyHokCpjxxlAH0nKhc7a2OM1QY7pdZf5OZwD6cE0FnxVIOaLwKglUc_I6NJGd58j6g/s320/iPhone+006.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I found this fat quarter a while back and thought it was pretty cool looking. I really want to use it to make a baby bib. Something a little different and quirky. I am a little afraid to since I don't know what it says. If you know what language this is or what it says, could you let me know. I am afraid if I make it into a bib, it may say something like "Llamas are weird", or it may say "There is no such thing as the Easter bunny". Too tragic to put on a baby bib! So if you have some information about this, let me know. No moma would be happy with a baby wearing a bib that says, "Kittens are evil".PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7738521493183695677.post-84886673596863155502011-07-11T16:30:00.000-04:002011-07-11T16:30:49.273-04:00My burp clothes must be tasty!I knew my burp clothes were good for keeping your clothes clean when holding leaky babies. I knew they were fun and cute to look at. I also knew they were handy for putting under a baby while they were sleeping to catch any spit up. But did you know they were tasty?!?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_9rXTCSAFc5bzLlDx3XYWD6oHw_zmi72GrpLZKv-AfKAP24JzMg2EA1NFDuxOH198vHSES0x9R52uFXTzjkath0Bt2hpA5MIXOx27gZIXyXsv09ahGAGWrWQ7nWTqY08FmJaOaLUQATS-/s1600/iPhone+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_9rXTCSAFc5bzLlDx3XYWD6oHw_zmi72GrpLZKv-AfKAP24JzMg2EA1NFDuxOH198vHSES0x9R52uFXTzjkath0Bt2hpA5MIXOx27gZIXyXsv09ahGAGWrWQ7nWTqY08FmJaOaLUQATS-/s320/iPhone+002.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />

I just couldn't help this picture. Isn't she adorable!!! Love the hair flip going on. Silly moma tried to put a bow in her hair. Guess she showed her, huh?!? So there you go. Burp clothes have been baby tested and have the Sweet Pea seal of approval. Or was that a seal of slobber?<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFbWscABOV_x3YUeQeJed_EkZui53xKugxM5X1MaoPiN_g0158uvcA60L7geXsXW9RSKZLiBqI3Rt59xr6ff-haBbYYmPh_bcsrPtX3YHp9Wgz1yFWnffB4W3sCnGORwLKxVkngIwGQN9P/s1600/iPhone+007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFbWscABOV_x3YUeQeJed_EkZui53xKugxM5X1MaoPiN_g0158uvcA60L7geXsXW9RSKZLiBqI3Rt59xr6ff-haBbYYmPh_bcsrPtX3YHp9Wgz1yFWnffB4W3sCnGORwLKxVkngIwGQN9P/s320/iPhone+007.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Yay! I know all of you are jumping up and down right now! It's funny, the fabric looks really wrinkled in the photo, but not so much in person. Hmmm, bad lighting? That's what I blame it on in the dressing room. If I look too wrinkled, it must be the lighting!<br />
<br />
I cut out about 24 circles in maybe 5 minutes with my GO! Baby. I love that thing!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqKyt8Gc4um2poQZaYAuSH82fBrr1MLo4bsjZKO0jvSW-nu84z7r-s32Gga_Sg77VoOLOrT_-71hYlYpIZDj_MS3ixgbCU4xvXh7xr80sQVNqnMv8HGDfd94VbN76LllyTQLJ8JzjePXfF/s1600/iPhone+009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqKyt8Gc4um2poQZaYAuSH82fBrr1MLo4bsjZKO0jvSW-nu84z7r-s32Gga_Sg77VoOLOrT_-71hYlYpIZDj_MS3ixgbCU4xvXh7xr80sQVNqnMv8HGDfd94VbN76LllyTQLJ8JzjePXfF/s320/iPhone+009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Don't tell anyone, but I got my GO! Baby from Amazon.com for about $85. Brand new. I am all about the good deals. Or maybe I'm just cheap?<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-Rk32ZTimN00WPWA9rm-v3AqfN-Nrpg0Atu4-4CiQOSRuqrJoJIsYXs2lmjCePPcHPvY2-QO3si_cX_g82UgAjZWM00mNKw40j7yoqxAU9eTmuZyvDHivTMl73s2w16ixu7biohhvyXgt/s1600/iPhone+008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-Rk32ZTimN00WPWA9rm-v3AqfN-Nrpg0Atu4-4CiQOSRuqrJoJIsYXs2lmjCePPcHPvY2-QO3si_cX_g82UgAjZWM00mNKw40j7yoqxAU9eTmuZyvDHivTMl73s2w16ixu7biohhvyXgt/s320/iPhone+008.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
I've got to make some more circles out of this fabric (above). But I ran out of interfacing, so it will have to wait till I run to the store tomorrow. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO7yipm87I336kA15a-s2tvOLcUVa-eYzpfL532zIhYHAQJ5_bqVMMMJkafZ8LM4aNsOLEz9fOLPNF0ftR6k4uI5Qn7E7vxRNjRl4TL-P2tNjdqPY0p4co7cpdw7crEGgdJQ3cw-k40xqk/s1600/iPhone+009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO7yipm87I336kA15a-s2tvOLcUVa-eYzpfL532zIhYHAQJ5_bqVMMMJkafZ8LM4aNsOLEz9fOLPNF0ftR6k4uI5Qn7E7vxRNjRl4TL-P2tNjdqPY0p4co7cpdw7crEGgdJQ3cw-k40xqk/s320/iPhone+009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
I am really happy with the circles. There is no way I could have cut them out. Not and them look like circles. Maybe egg shape.... And that would have taken me all day. It would not have been pretty! So this weekend I will start the process of sewing the circles to the fabric. I can't wait!PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7738521493183695677.post-28844926330000897692011-07-05T20:25:00.000-04:002011-07-05T20:25:43.266-04:00Need your opinionOkay, I need some input. I found this amazing, beautiful quilt I want to make:<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim94kyNGT61otfVNkMe-aQa7rlXYxKwnYdBiINGGSDyp5A0paSOgOhQdb9mh8DpqRQ7kUEdu1USVQJif7GjuLATr2FJtAtJbOR3AGY_0euiURX1N93_rOORWvhvwojCWgkOaGl-PHCZps/s1600/IMG_5793.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="243" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim94kyNGT61otfVNkMe-aQa7rlXYxKwnYdBiINGGSDyp5A0paSOgOhQdb9mh8DpqRQ7kUEdu1USVQJif7GjuLATr2FJtAtJbOR3AGY_0euiURX1N93_rOORWvhvwojCWgkOaGl-PHCZps/s320/IMG_5793.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
It's from <a href="http://alittlegray.blogspot.com/2011/05/baby-bedding-quilt.html">A Little Gray</a>. This is one talented lady!<br />
<br />
So I have the fabric for the dots and I can't decide what color to do the background in. I don't think white will work because there is some white in the fabrics. So your choices are:<br />
<br />
light green (sorry, haven't ironed it yet)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRnwy0SZ6oxrd4Z4SoGOPdC-jn6jV37KWGEI-fiFsSy5cZF1n3DfwrccZgZGvJA1HJyyVG-Xt_j35nIaTRBKFY5KqBMg1H1EgeC7w7qC6_qy8LpndL0aQPDUMYz_tk_zWtBd4aYJ8uzfWa/s1600/iPhone+013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" i$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRnwy0SZ6oxrd4Z4SoGOPdC-jn6jV37KWGEI-fiFsSy5cZF1n3DfwrccZgZGvJA1HJyyVG-Xt_j35nIaTRBKFY5KqBMg1H1EgeC7w7qC6_qy8LpndL0aQPDUMYz_tk_zWtBd4aYJ8uzfWa/s320/iPhone+013.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
or yellow<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO0d5TvwB920WP3_N0vMhHrXgk2AufVwy6q3RvGTIfpOv4kRR3GY4uLvmdf8WEIj9X6NfU_svt58V1RgeZplYS6GIMxQqIAeKrXgaiEIgIa4iyKxduAXIyVv0fT1BXz1zwRi8JVcBO-eeG/s1600/iPhone+014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" i$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO0d5TvwB920WP3_N0vMhHrXgk2AufVwy6q3RvGTIfpOv4kRR3GY4uLvmdf8WEIj9X6NfU_svt58V1RgeZplYS6GIMxQqIAeKrXgaiEIgIa4iyKxduAXIyVv0fT1BXz1zwRi8JVcBO-eeG/s320/iPhone+014.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
Or maybe a whole different color? This is just what I have on hand ready to sew with. So let me know what you think. I can't wait to get started on this!PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7738521493183695677.post-38007169968705051382011-06-29T19:27:00.000-04:002011-06-29T19:27:24.012-04:00My baby and me!Miss SassyPants and I were playing with the new Hipstamatic app on my phone yesterday.<br />

I love the way these pictures look. Everything these days is trying to look vintage. You have to buy really expensive stuff to look old! Funny huh?<br />

This is my new orange nail polish. Like it? Can you tell we were bored? Big sisters and big brother were gone, so it was just us. We pulled out the bubbles and had a good time. I had forgotten how much fun blowing bubbles was. Sometimes it's nice to pretend to be a kid again.PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7738521493183695677.post-68577043308733850502011-06-29T19:21:00.000-04:002011-06-29T19:21:24.339-04:00Baby washclothesI made some awesome baby washclothes! These are so soft!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFHwPP33qRYaCxhdVBgO1LXUee5it2iu-R6Vt7W8Vny-8e6rCOG1CB_Oq4opIDjRbfIfD0Rpl0T7w7h8PJ5QkCGskEy1J6PQuO5OEHIMwS8J43gdp4KxUKFFpMN6sm-aHcWYK1XTpJF8at/s1600/iPhone+010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" i$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFHwPP33qRYaCxhdVBgO1LXUee5it2iu-R6Vt7W8Vny-8e6rCOG1CB_Oq4opIDjRbfIfD0Rpl0T7w7h8PJ5QkCGskEy1J6PQuO5OEHIMwS8J43gdp4KxUKFFpMN6sm-aHcWYK1XTpJF8at/s320/iPhone+010.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
These are very easy to make. Flannel is on one side and chenille on the back. Just cut them in a 6 1/2 inch square and sew together with right sides together. Leave a small opening to turn right side out. Then I topstitched all the way around the border to close the opening and give it a nice finish.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7C_Yl9xC2GETpDZrm-te5bkhFc7eeOG9PFW6mV0yaXTWUWINDI6Q76jOKxCSRT0SEgyT0Jv7fClN9h0rDex3xTectAYC67sd3dROTYUnqwzhhxKEDuiqrvNaPRQovCKcb7sYvMspWULWs/s1600/iPhone+011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" i$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7C_Yl9xC2GETpDZrm-te5bkhFc7eeOG9PFW6mV0yaXTWUWINDI6Q76jOKxCSRT0SEgyT0Jv7fClN9h0rDex3xTectAYC67sd3dROTYUnqwzhhxKEDuiqrvNaPRQovCKcb7sYvMspWULWs/s320/iPhone+011.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I think I may make some of these for me! An adult can have a nice cozy washclothes, right? Maybe I will package 5 of them together and sell for $10. Sound reasonable? These are very soft! I've said that already, haven't I. Oh well. I do tend to repeat myself! :-)PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7738521493183695677.post-64595499143162630872011-06-24T12:46:00.000-04:002011-06-24T12:46:02.595-04:00Making more burp clothsI have made several of these burp cloths for friends of mine, and they love them!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV4dl5uJQQalIi6KrpMUz6MyNBYGPDBy8KOiY-jrMloOuQrVrwvNB36X97NUrwEeHewYVB6GehpLyEDMg3U_mKx36OW14tjQawqNUT_16KdUXjRwZbqNSw85RCGFvBNOe6hCvGjuwI18E4/s1600/iPhone+006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" i$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV4dl5uJQQalIi6KrpMUz6MyNBYGPDBy8KOiY-jrMloOuQrVrwvNB36X97NUrwEeHewYVB6GehpLyEDMg3U_mKx36OW14tjQawqNUT_16KdUXjRwZbqNSw85RCGFvBNOe6hCvGjuwI18E4/s320/iPhone+006.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I think the shape is one thing they love. I know I could not live without burp cloths when mine were little. I made this several different ways before I found the right combination. I tried using flannel on the front and back, I also used cloth diaper material on the back. Then I tried terry cloth on the back and flannel on the front. We had a winner!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_mO3olDpXzHUx2IzDVOnMIkhzzt0M2gkucSxP-O93KAs77yV5gHR8XvzLjvqLTxgNIuM3KTw3VaEpo1nXZ9OD6JjWtOrUFV6MDgi7th_YZnF4agYZur_IXsH6-WrvhSeizP_8542wAB3r/s1600/iPhone+007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" i$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_mO3olDpXzHUx2IzDVOnMIkhzzt0M2gkucSxP-O93KAs77yV5gHR8XvzLjvqLTxgNIuM3KTw3VaEpo1nXZ9OD6JjWtOrUFV6MDgi7th_YZnF4agYZur_IXsH6-WrvhSeizP_8542wAB3r/s320/iPhone+007.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
The flannel that is out now is so much cuter than what I had when my first one was little. It gets cuter every year.<br />
<br />

It's for my neighbor's niece. They don't know the gender of the baby, so this Kate Spain fabric is perfect!<br />

I am very pleased with how this one turned out. I think it is one of my favorites. I decided to try a pieced backing this time.<br />

Not too bad for a first time. I love the crinkly look. It is very soft and snuggly. This one is a little hard to pass on. I think I say that with every quilt!<br />

The pattern I used is <a href="http://www.modabakeshop.com/2011/04/hoopla-pops-quilt.html#more">this one.</a> I just left off the circles and changed the border a bit. There are so many great patterns on Moda Bake Shop. I could spend hours there! It would take years for me to make everything I want to. I found this website tonight, and it is wonderful! <a href="http://www.dfwbirthphotographer.com/home/">http://www.dfwbirthphotographer.com/home/</a> Lynsey Stone is so talented. She captures all the different emotions felt during a birth. Her work is very real. There are some pictures that leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Then there are those that stike a very deep chord inside those who have been through a tough labor. One thing I love is that almost every woman wears the exact same expression the first time they see their baby. It is a look of utter disbelief and joy. Every first time mom that is a client of mine, I tell the same thing. Even though you know there is a baby inside you, when you first see the baby there will be a moment of shock. They all smile sweetly at me thinking I am a lunatic. Until they have their baby. Then they laugh and say I was right. Nothing can compare you for that first sight of your baby. It is magical. So enjoy looking through Lynsey Stone's website. I hope it will bring back some magical memories for you.PushDoulahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15250070656248832223noreply@blogger.com0
